Despite a more than 1300% increase in assaults against them, ICE law enforcement officers continued to arrest the worst of the worst from communities across the U.S.
WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security today announced U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested murderers, pedophiles, rapists, and gang members over the weekend.
“Our ICE law enforcement never stop fulfilling their mission to make America safe again,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “While Americans were enjoying their weekends, our law enforcement was arresting murderers, pedophiles, rapists, and gang members. Despite a more than 1,300% increase in assaults against them, our officers continue to put their lives on the line seven days a week to remove heinous criminals from American neighborhoods.”
ICE made the following arrests on January 16 through 18:

ICE Baltimore arrested Manuel Matta-Reyes, a 55-year-old citizen of Guatemala. Matta’s criminal history includes convictions for second degree murder, and rape first degree in Rutherford County, NC.

ICE San Francisco arrested Benjamin Zaragoza-Garcia, a 32-year-old criminal alien of Mexico. Zaragoza’s criminal history includes convictions for robbery with gang enhancements in Riverside, CA.

ICE New Orleans arrested Alfredo Rodriguez-Ordonez, a 31-year-old criminal alien of Mexico. Rodriguez’s criminal history includes convictions for sexual exploitation of a minor in Shelby County, TN and for possession of a firearm by an illegal alien in Memphis, TN.

ICE Houston arrested Ronal Garbey-Jorin, a 27-year-old criminal alien of Cuba. Garbey’s criminal history includes a conviction for assault of a family member in Houston, TX.

ICE Atlanta arrested Juan Manuel Salinas, a 51-year-old criminal alien of Mexico. Salinas’s criminal history includes a conviction for larceny of motor vehicle in Lenoir County, NC.

ICE Dallas arrested Jose Eduardo Choc-Sian, a 35-year-old criminal alien of Guatemala. Choc’s criminal history includes convictions for simple sexual battery and soliciting a prostitute in Terrebonne, LA.

ICE San Antonio arrested Eubeleo Lopez-Arzate, a 29-year-old criminal alien of Mexico. Lopez’s criminal history includes a conviction for burglary of a building in Georgetown, TX.

ICE Buffalo arrested Dorelien Frantzcy, a 37-year-old criminal alien of Haiti. Frantzcy’s criminal history includes a conviction for burglary in New York, NY.

ICE Los Angeles arrested Dilton Merlos-Campos, a 47-year-old criminal alien of El Salvador. Merlos’ criminal history includes a conviction for burglary in Los Angeles, CA.

ICE Newark arrested Walace Pereira-Lima, a 43-year-old criminal alien of Brazil. Pereira’s criminal history includes a conviction for child pornography in the United States District Court of Massachusetts.

ICE San Antonio removed Jose Garcia-Samaniego, a 43-year-old citizen of Mexico. Garcia’s criminal history includes a conviction for 1st degree sexual assault of a minor without consent in Adams County, NE.

ICE Atlanta arrested Roni Ayala-Raines, a 40-year-old criminal alien of Honduras. Ayala’s criminal history includes a conviction for assault by pointing a gun in Lee County, NC.

ICE Houston arrested Bruno Eliazar Guevara-Suazo, a 34-year-old criminal alien of Honduras. Guevara’s criminal history includes a conviction for assault on peace officer in Harris County, TX.

ICE Los Angeles arrested Ehsan Jalal, a 52-year-old citizen of Afghanistan. Jalal’s criminal history includes a conviction for robbery in Los Angeles, CA.

ICE Philadelphia arrested Alexander Alejandro Xol-Pop, a 20-year-old criminal alien of Guatemala. Xol’s criminal history includes a conviction for strangulation in Philadelphia, PA.

ASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released the following statement and information regarding U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrests of dangerous criminal illegal aliens in Minneapolis, Minnesota over the weekend including murderers, rapists, gang members, and perpetrators of fraud.
“We have arrested over 10,000 criminal illegal aliens who were killing Americans, hurting children and reigning terror in Minneapolis because Tim Walz and Jacob Frey refuse to protect their own people and instead protect criminals,” said Secretary Kristi Noem. “In the last 6 weeks, our brave DHS law enforcement have arrested 3,000 criminal illegal aliens including vicious murderers, rapists, child pedophiles, and incredibly dangerous individuals. A huge victory for public safety.”
This weekend, ICE arrested dangerous criminals during Operation Metro Surge, including:

Yang Koua Moua, a criminal illegal alien from Laos, with convictions for homicide and robbery. Moua is an admitted “Oriental Lo” gang member and was issued a final order of removal in 2013.

Tze Thao, a criminal illegal alien from Laos, with a conviction for homicide. He was issued a final order of removal in 2015.

Abdikadir Sheik Yusuf, a criminal illegal alien from Somalia, with convictions for assault, forgery, and obstruction and arrests for drug possession and theft.

Arnoldo Jose Hernandez-Perez, a criminal illegal alien from Guatemala, with convictions for sexual assault and driving under the influence. Hernandez-Perez was issued a final order of removal in 2018.

Blong Xiong, a criminal illegal alien from Laos and convicted sex offender. This monster’s criminal history includes a conviction for sodomy on a 12-year-old girl and sexual assault. 

Dat Quoc Ly, a criminal illegal alien from Vietnam, with a criminal history including multiple arrests for driving under the influence, larceny, assault and making terrorist threats and an arrest for fraud.

Jorge Cordoso-Luna, a criminal illegal alien from Cuba, with convictions for aggravated assault with a weapon, larceny, assault, possession of cocaine, and robbery with a gun.

Deth Oudone Phaengsy, a criminal illegal alien from Laos, with convictions for possession of a weapon and aggravated assault with a gun. Phaengsy is an “Asian Boys” gang member and has a final order of removal from 2018.

Pedro Garcia-Bravo, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, with a criminal history of fraud, identity theft, and driving under the influence. He was issued a final order of removal in 2010.

Jonathan Paul Yuquilema-Ganan, a criminal illegal alien from Ecuador, with criminal convictions for driving under the influence and stealing a vehicle.

Pao Xiong, a criminal illegal alien from Laos, with multiple convictions for driving under the influence, aggravated assault with a weapon assault, and possession of amphetamine. Xiong was issued a final order of removal in 2011.

Gilberto Gallardo-Reyes, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, with a criminal history including driving under the influence, fraud, and violating a court order.

ASHINGTON — Today, Secretary Kristi Noem announced the new Deputy Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Mr. Charles Wall.
“Effective immediately, Charles Wall will serve as the Deputy Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement,” said Secretary Noem. “For the last year, Mr. Wall served as ICE’s Principal Legal Advisor, playing a key role in helping us deliver historic results in arresting and removing the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens from American neighborhoods. Mr. Wall has served as an ICE attorney for 14 years and is a forward leaning, strategic thinker who understands the importance of prioritizing the removal of murderers, rapists, pedophiles, gang members, and terrorists from our country. I look forward to working with him in his new role to make America safe again.”
Mr. Wall served as ICE’s Principal Legal Advisor where he oversaw a staff of over 3,500 attorneys and support personnel who represent DHS in removal proceedings and provide accurate, timely, and complete legal advice and counsel to the agency’s senior officials and workforce.
He has served at ICE since 2012. Prior to his tenure as ICE’s Principal Legal Advisor, Mr. Wall served as the agency’s Deputy Chief Counsel for New Orleans and the Assistant Chief Counsel in Louisiana.
Prior to joining ICE, Mr. Wall served as a prosecutor and Senior Assistant District Attorney at the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office from 2009 to 2012. WASHINGTON — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released operational statistics today for December 2025 under President Donald Trump’s border security policies.
“Thanks to President Trump’s leadership and the dedication of DHS law enforcement, America’s borders are safer than any time in our nation’s history. What President Trump and our CBP agents and officers have been able to do in a single year is nothing short of extraordinary,” said DHS Secretary Kristi Noem. “Once again, we have a record low number of encounters at the border and the 8th straight month of zero releases. Month after month, we are delivering results that were once thought impossible: the most secure border in history and unmatched enforcement successes.”
“Our agents and officers have set a new standard for border security, achieving historic results that speak for themselves,” said CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott. “The men and women of CBP are demonstrating what’s possible through unwavering commitment and effective enforcement and will continue to ensure the safety and security of our nation’s borders every single day.”

Border Enforcement at Historic Levels
CBP recorded its lowest encounter totals ever to start a fiscal year:

91,603 total encounters nationwide in October, November, December – lower than any prior fiscal year to date. This is 25% lower than the previous low of 121,469 in FY2012.
US Border Patrol recorded the lowest number of apprehensions along the southwest border ever in the first quarter of a fiscal year (21,815 in FY2026), which was 95% lower than the first quarter average under the Biden administration.

Illegal crossings in December remained historically low:

30,698 total encounters nationwide in December — 92% below the peak of the Biden administration’s 370,883, and the lowest encounters ever for a month of December.
6,478 Border Patrol apprehensions on the southwest border in December — 96% lower than the monthly average of the Biden administration, and less than what was apprehended in 4 days in December 2024.
209 USBP apprehensions per day on the southwest border in December — 96% lower than the daily average under the Biden administration, and less than the number apprehended every 1.5 hours under the Biden administration.
Zero parole releases — compared to 7,041 released by the Border Patrol under the Biden administration along the southwest border in December 2024.

Drug Interdictions That Save Lives
As the nation’s border security agency, CBP is on the frontline against foreign terrorist organizations that threaten the safety and well-being of Americans. CBP is uniquely positioned to detect, identify, and seize illicit drugs like fentanyl before they enter our communities.
Nationwide in December, CBP seized 39,030 pounds of illicit drugs, including the following seizure totals:

Fentanyl seizures: 865 pounds
Methamphetamine seizures: 12,833 pounds
Cocaine seizures: 3,793 pounds
Heroin seizures: 164 pounds
Marijuana seizures: 14,445 pounds

Tariff Enforcement & Economic Security
CBP plays a central role in executing the President’s tariff policy as trade enforcement and revenue collection authorities. This has included the implementation of 42 presidential tariff actions directed by the Trump administration. In December 2025 alone, CBP:

Identified $28.4 billion in duties owed

From Jan. 20 through Dec. 31, CBP collected:

$297 billion from all tariffs, taxes, and fees

lass=”text-align-center”>Federal law enforcement officers are facing a more than 1,300% increase in assaults against them as they put their lives on the line to arrest criminals and lawbreakers
WASHINGTON — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) released details on the three criminal illegal aliens who violently assaulted law enforcement with a shovel and broom handle in an attempt to evade arrest and obstruct law enforcement yesterday in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
At 6:50 PM CT on January 14, 2025, federal law enforcement officers were conducting a targeted traffic stop in Minneapolis for Julio Cesar Sosa-Celis who was released into the country by President Joe Biden in 2022.
Attempting to evade arrest, Sosa-Celis fled the scene in his vehicle, crashed into a parked car, and proceeded to flee on foot. The law enforcement officer pursued Sosa-Celis also on foot, caught up to him, and attempted to apprehend him when Sosa-Celis began to resist and violently assault the officer. While Sosa-Celis and law enforcement were in a struggle on the ground, two subjects came out of a nearby apartment and attacked the law enforcement officer with a snow shovel and broom handle.
As the officer was being ambushed and attacked by the two individuals, Sosa-Celis got loose and began striking the officer with a shovel or broom stick. Fearing for his life and safety as he was being ambushed by three individuals, the officer fired a defensive shot to defend his life. Sosa-Celis was hit in the leg. All three subjects ran back into the apartment and barricaded themselves inside. ICE successfully arrested all three illegal aliens.
The attacked officer and Sosa-Celis are both in the hospital. All three illegal aliens were arrested and are in ICE custody.
“What we saw last night in Minneapolis was an attempted murder of federal law enforcement. Our officer was ambushed and attacked by three individuals who beat him with snow shovels and the handles of brooms. Fearing for his life, the officer fired a defensive shot,” said Secretary Kristi Noem. “Mayor Frey and Governor Walz have to get their city under control. They are encouraging impeding and assault against our law enforcement which is a federal crime, a felony. This is putting the people of Minnesota in harm’s way.”
This attack on another brave member of law enforcement took place while Minnesota’s top leaders, Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, continue to refuse cooperation with federal efforts to arrest and remove violent criminal illegal aliens from their communities.
The hateful rhetoric and resistance against men and women who are simply trying to do their jobs must end. Federal law enforcement officers are facing a more than 1,300% increase in assaults against them as they put their lives on the line to arrest criminals and lawbreakers.
All three of the illegal aliens involved in this violent attack on law enforcement were let into our country by the Biden administration.

Julio Cesar Sosa-Celis, a criminal illegal alien from Venezuela, previously convicted for driving without a license and arrested for two counts of giving a false name to a peace officer, was the subject of a targeted enforcement operation. He was released by Minnesota authorities before ICE could even lodge a detainer. Sosa-Celis illegally entered the United States in August 2022 under the Biden administration.

Alfredo Alejandro Ajorna, an illegal alien from Venezuela, illegally entered the United States in May 2023 under the Biden administration. After he failed to show up for his immigration hearing, he was issued a final order of removal by an Immigration Judge.

strong>WASHINGTON – On Thursday, the United States Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem held a formal swearing-in and assumption of command ceremony at U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters for Admiral Kevin Lunday as the 28th Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard.
“President Trump’s plan was simple when he became President of the United States. He wanted to revitalize the Coast Guard, equip it with the best technology, ships, and aircraft available, and then recruit the men and women that were necessary to run it all. It’s a tall order, and it takes a special kind of leader to lead this team and make that a reality,” said Secretary Noem. “With almost 40 years in the Coast Guard, and with command experience that has ranged from the Indo-Pacific to the Persian Gulf to cyberspace, Kevin Lunday was the man for the job. Congratulations, Admiral Lunday!”
“I am honored to assume command of the United States Coast Guard,” said Admiral Kevin Lunday. “Every day, Coast Guard men and women carry out missions that protect our homeland, secure our maritime borders, save lives, and protect national security. I am humbled to serve alongside them while ensuring they have what they need to succeed – today and in the future.”
As Commandant, Adm. Lunday will oversee the Coast Guard’s global operations, including maritime law enforcement, border security, search and rescue, defense readiness, and cybersecurity missions. Over the course of 2025, during which Adm. Lunday served as Acting Commandant, the Coast Guard smashed historic records and underwent an unprecedented transformation.

In Fiscal Year 2025, the Coast Guard surpassed its recruiting goals with 121% of its target for the fiscal year, totaling 5,204 new members – the highest since 1991.
Since January 2025, Coast Guard seizures of illegal narcotics are up 200%.
Interdictions, deterrence events, and transportation of illegal aliens are up 120%.
And the Coast Guard saved 4,946 lives.

WASHINGTON — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested Robyn Argote Brooks, an illegal alien from Cuba who weaponized his vehicle against federal law enforcement officials and rammed two ICE vehicles with his car in San Antonio, Texas on January 13.

ICE officers were conducting a targeted vehicle stop to arrest Brooks. The illegal alien refused to comply with law enforcement commands to exit his vehicle. He then attempted to evade arrest by throwing his vehicle into reverse and backing up full speed, almost running over an ICE officer. Fortunately, he missed the officer and slammed into an ICE vehicle instead. The illegal alien then accelerated forward, slamming into a second ICE vehicle and injuring the officer in the front seat. ICE officers successfully arrested him.

“One of our officers was injured in this vehicle attack and we are praying for him, his health, and his family. As sanctuary politicians have encouraged illegal aliens to evade arrest, they have created an environment that incites violence against our law enforcement,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.”Our ICE officers are facing a 3,200% increase in vehicle attacks against them and a more than 1,300% increase in assaults against them. Secretary Noem has been clear: anyone who assaults law enforcement will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.” 
Brooks entered the U.S. under the Biden administration’s disastrous CBP One app in 2024, which allowed over a million unvetted aliens into the country. He is now in ICE custody.
This attack on another brave member of law enforcement took place while sanctuary politicians are actively encouraging organized resistance to ICE and federal law enforcement officers. Sanctuary politicians have created an environment that encourages rampant assaults on law enforcement.
From January 21, 2025 – January 7, 2026, ICE law enforcement officers experienced 66 vehicular attacks against them, compared to only two during the same time period the previous year. This is a 3,200% increase in vehicular attacks.
