3 Million to Fund Hurricane Helene Recovery and COVID-19
FEMA approved an additional $10
3 million in funding to support disaster recovery in Georgia
The funding comes from FEMA’s Public Assistance program, which has already provided $1
5 billion to help Georgia recover and rebuild after Hurricane Helene
The Public Assistance program provides funds for state and local government response and recovery work at no less than a 75% federal cost share
The recently approved Hurricane Helene recovery projects include:$6 million to Satilla Rural Electric Membership Corporation for repairs to public utilities and management costs
$950,000 to Treutlen County for management costs
$657,000 to Chatham County for emergency protective measures
$645,000 to Lanier County for emergency protective measures
$532,000 to Washington County for management costs
$500,000 to Georgia Transmission Corporation for management costs
$250,000 to Tattnall County for management costs
$223,000 to Coffee County for emergency protective measures
Georgia also recently received one grant for the COVID-19 response:$594,000 to Floyd Healthcare Management, Inc
for management costs
