FEMA Announces More Than $27 Million for Kentucky Recovery
ATLANTA – FEMA announced more than $27 million to support disaster recovery efforts in Kentucky
The approved funding is provided through FEMA’s Public Assistance Program
FEMA will reimburse communities for costs associated with 86 projects to repair or replace public roads and bridges, dams and levees, parks, recreational facilities and critical infrastructure; debris removal; and emergency protective measures to reduce immediate threats to life, public health, safety or property
Notable projects include:$9
5 million to the Kentucky Department of Transportation to repair or replace public roads and bridges
$5
3 million to Pennyrile Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation to repair utilities
$2 million to Perry County to repair or replace public roads and bridges
$1
6 million to Pike County to repair or replace public roads and bridges
$1
1 million to Laurel County for emergency protective measures and to repair or replace public roads and bridges
$985,000 to the Kentucky Department of Parks to repair and restore parks and recreational facilities
