This May saw the completion of our remote metadata program from the 2025-2026 school year. Participants for this academic year captured the metadata of Congressional Research Service (CRS) bill summaries for all bills added to Congress.gov since 1935. Historical bill summaries are in older PDFs, so project participants manually captured the metadata of the summaries to connect them to the bills and make them machine-digestible. Other projects included updates to Letters of Delegates to Congress, Foreign Legal Gazettes, American State Papers, U.S. Treaties, U.S. Reports, Statutes at Large, and story maps.
Participants from this school year, their home states, and educational backgrounds are listed below. We wish them the best as they continue in their professional careers!
Lindsay Abaziou is a Pennsylvania native who has lived in the Washington, D.C., area since completing college. She holds a B.A. in graphic design from Millersville University of Pennsylvania, worked over a decade in the digital marketing and analytics field, and is near completion of a master’s degree in library and information science (M.L.I.S.) from Syracuse University.
Erah Arzate lives with family in California, and holds a B.A. in psychology from Cal State Dominguez Hills and an M.S. in library and information science from San José State University. Erah is a veteran of the remote metadata program.
Raegan Benda is a Dallas, Texas native and a third-semester graduate student at the University of North Texas, where she is pursuing a master’s degree in library science (M.L.S.) with a concentration in law and legal informatics. She previously graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and a minor in digital marketing.
Rebecca Bermudez holds a B.A. from William & Mary and a J.D. from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. She is a current M.L.I.S. student at Louisiana State University.
Mateo León Caballero is a scholar-in-training currently based in Somerville, Massachusetts, where he works in access services at Harvard Library. He holds a B.A. from Northeastern University and plans to graduate with a Master of Science degree in library and information science (M.S.L.I.S.) from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in the spring.
Wilma Camarillo is a native Houstonian from Texas who recently graduated from the University of North Texas with a master’s in library science, where she also obtained a certification in archival management. Her background is in art history, and she received her M.A. in art history from the University of Houston in 2022.
Abbey Campbell lives in Connecticut and is entering her final semester as an M.L.I.S. student at Southern Connecticut State University. She works in metadata management for born-digital photography assets at the Yale School of Medicine..
Rebecca Chasen is a student services coordinator and graduate student at Drexel University. She is studying for her master’s in library science, after a decade-long career in marketing/communications. This will be her second master’s degree, as she earned a joint B.A. and M.A. in communications in 2021.
Preethy Cherian lived in two countries before settling in Delaware, where she now works in a public library handling reference, acquisitions, and cataloging. She holds a B.A. and M.A. in English language and literature, and with a decade of public library experience, has a library and information science degree in progress.
Hanifah Christie currently lives in Washington and works as an intelligence sergeant in the U.S. Army, where she developed skills in research, analysis, and structured information systems. She graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. in psychology and earned her M.S. in library and information science from St. John’s University.
Rachel Chu resides in New Jersey and is working towards a master’s degree in library and information science at Rutgers University.
Anna Cordaro holds a B.A. in game design from the University of Texas at Dallas and an M.L.I.S. and certificate in digital curation and data management from the University of North Texas.
Adrian Encinosa grew up and currently resides in Tampa, Florida. He is pursuing an M.L.I.S. at the University of South Florida, where he also holds a B.A. in history and an associate’s degree from Hillsborough Community College. He previously worked in the special collections department at the Tampa Bay History Center and the City of Tampa Archives.
Joanna Fulkerson currently lives in Orlando, Florida, and works at a local public library. She earned an M.L.I.S. from Florida State University with a focus on general librarianship and youth services.
Mary Hogan is a returning volunteer with the Law Library who spent most of her career in the government and nonprofit sectors. She holds an M.P.A. from Westfield State University, an M.S.L.I.S. from Simmons University, and a B.A. in political science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Cate Holdredge is an undergraduate student at George Washington University studying political science, international affairs, and psychology.
Sheila Howell grew up in Texas and lives in Northern California. She holds a B.A. from Rice and an M.L.I.S. from San José State University. Her work experience includes time at a public middle school library, two archives, and a graduate research assistantship.
Lore Lawlor is a South Jersey native, currently living in Philadelphia whilst studying library and information sciences as a graduate student at Drexel University. His degree focuses on metadata, archives, and curation, with a graduate minor in museum leadership. As a part-time student, Lore works full-time at Penn Medicine and has internships at The Academy of Natural Sciences and Penn Museum.
Jeffrey Leafblad was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. He received a B.S. degree in linguistics from Truman State University and an M.A. in English from the University of Missouri Kansas City, where he now teaches as an adjunct. He is currently pursuing an M.L.I.S. at the University of Arizona.
Chanda Lemon lives in Missouri but was born and raised in Texas. She holds a B.A. in interdisciplinary studies with a focus on education and reading from the University of Texas at San Antonio and an M.L.S. from the University of North Texas. She has worked for over 25 years as a library media specialist in public education.
Noelani Leong is a lifelong California resident who recently graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz, with her bachelor’s degree in anthropology. After working for her local public library, she decided to pursue her M.L.I.S. and volunteers with a local non-profit organization.
Kevin Lopez Cruz is pursuing his B.A. in English at Bowie State University, graduating two semesters early.
Josie McCarey is an Atlanta, Georgia native, and currently a student at the University of Mississippi, studying international studies and public policy leadership with a minor in Spanish.
Cynthia Ng is a New York City native who received a master’s degree in information science (M.I.S.) from UAlbany and a B.A. in Japanese studies and linguistics from Binghamton University.
Anna Prillaman grew up and currently resides in Houston, Texas. A recent graduate of the University of Virginia, she studied cognitive science and Spanish. This past fall for the Library of Congress, Anna served as a metadata intern, managing legal gazettes written in Spanish and published by El Diario Oficial, the official journal of the Government of Colombia.
Anastasia Prussakova graduated from Boston College in 2025, earning a B.A. in English and a B.S. in psychology. Currently, she is pursuing a master’s of philosophy in digital humanities at the University of Cambridge, where she has completed research fellowships in psychology and English departments.
Simon Ritter is a graduate of Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington, where he studied biology and English. Hailing from Seattle originally, he is working towards his master’s in information science from the University of Texas at Austin, with a specialization in archives and special collections.
Puja Roy is a native of New York and has lived in New York City her entire life. She holds a B.Tech. in computer engineering technology from CUNY New York City College of Technology and a master’s degree in data science from CUNY School of Professional Studies. She served as a library assistant volunteer and library page at The New York Public Library and interned at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.
Gerald Sayles III is a Maryland native currently living in Virginia, where he works as a library technician at the Library of Virginia. He is a recent graduate from Louisiana State University with an M.L.I.S. along with a graduate certificate in archival studies. Additionally, he earned his B.A. in history from St. Mary’s College of Maryland (SMCM) in spring 2021 and an M.A. in World War II Studies at Arizona State University in fall 2022.
Ava Scroggs is from northeast Ohio and is a current senior at the University of Akron, pursuing undergraduate degrees in economics and history, as well as a professional certificate in museums and archives. She currently works in her university’s archives and special collections department on campus.
Janani Srinivasan currently lives in northern California and volunteers at the Haggin Museum’s archives, helping rearrange parts of the collection to improve organization. They graduated with their M.S.L.I.S. from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
Olivera Stojanovic is a librarian with a master’s degree in library and information science and more than 20 years of professional experience.
Ondrianna Tavtigian holds a B.S. and an M.S. in environmental science. She served four years in the U.S. Army as an Arabic linguist and later at a government special collections library. She will graduate with an M.L.I.S from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., in May 2026.
LeeAnn Williams is a recent graduate of the M.L.I.S. program of Southern Connecticut State University. She holds a B.A. in music and Spanish from Muhlenberg College. LeeAnn is currently an adult programs library assistant at her local public library.
Nichole Wong hails from California and holds an M.L.I.S. from the University of California, Los Angeles. She previously earned dual B.S. degrees in computer science and computer game science from the University of California, Irvine.
Sorahya Woods is a Florida native with a B.A. in psychology and a minor in Spanish language and culture from Florida International University and an M.S. in forest resources and conservation (with a concentration in ecological restoration) from the University of Florida. They are currently attending the University of South Florida’s M.L.I.S. program, which they will graduate from in Spring 2027.
